Lt. General Robert Neller presents approximately 400 Montford Point Marines in attendance, with a bronze replica medal during a commemorative ceremony June 28,2012 at the Marine Corps Barracks in Washington DC. From 1942 to 1949, approximately 20,000 African American recruits were trained at Montford Point during World War II ,most of whom fought in World War II, others in Korea and Vietnam.  (Thomas Brown/Staff)
