Navy hovercraft with Assault Craft Unit 5 depart USS Makin Island carrying 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit vehicles and personnel here May 1. The units are deployed as part of the Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group, currently a U.S. Central Command theater reserve force.
